Nintendo E3 2013

So far E3 has been filled with surprises and big reveals and so far, Nintendo adds to the drama by choosing not to have an E3 conference and chose instead to post a video to speak “Direct” to gamers

Both titles launch October 12 2013 worldwide.

Next is the ever lovably Super Mario in the 4 player platform title “Super Mario 3D World”. Now player can play dynamic 4 player co-op or competitive and to add to the excitement, players can use the “Cat Mario” suit. With this suit, players can perform cat-like actions like climb walls and scratch enemies.

This Wii U title will be released in December of 2013.

Next up in it’s 8th iteration (lord shoot me) is Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U. New to the series its the ability to magnetically hover and adhere to the track. The title will also pool previous race and track types from previous releases.

In the Viewtiful Joe styled “The Wonderful 101” the player and his squadron of heros, unit (literally) to form objects to defeat monsters that invade the world. With up to 5 players controlling their own squadron, the action gets intense.

Literally the ONLY Nintendo title I’m interested in.

This interesting and quirky title will be available September 15th 2013

Just as it was getting interesting, Nintendo goes back to the familiar and safe “Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze”. The big selling point here is the HD graphics and new camera angle gameplay. Seriously. SMH

Expect  “Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze” in a store near you some time in November 2013.

Following Platinum Games success with Bayonetta, Bayonetta 2 will be a Wii U Exclusive!

Available in 2014

Next, Monolithsoft unveiled it’s Xenoblade title “X” a open world mech game.

Release date TBA

Last but not least to follow up with the reinvigoration of the fighting genre, Iwata announces Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U and 3DS . New to the series is Megaman fully loaded with the powers of the defeated Willy robots. Available in 2014

In closing, Nintendo played it safe and really only had a few titles (2 or 3) really worth my attention. I would have liked to see more but everything was as I expected it.

If I were to judge their presentation I would give Nintendo a C- . E3 2013 was their for the taking but the came up short in remarkable fashion.
